Game Information
This Week: The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack soccer team will return to the field for a pair of weekend road games in the state of Nebraska. SFA heads to Omaha Friday for a game against Creighton, then will take on Nebraska in a Sunday afternoon tilt. The Ladyjacks are 2-3-0 on the season. Creighton brings a 5-3-0 record to the game. Nebraska enters the week with a 2-4-0 mark. The Cornhuskers host Drake Tuesday and North Dakota State Friday, before entertaining the Ladyjacks.
Last Week: SFA was scheduled for just one game last week, a Sunday showdown with Arkansas. The game was to be the first meeting between the two teams since 1996, but was canceled when hurricane Ike shifted course and headed toward the Nacogdoches area. The Ladyjacks have not played since last Monday, when they knocked off Arkansas State, 3-1, in a game that had been rescheduled from the previous day.
SFA vs. the Bluejays: Creighton leads the short all-time series with SFA, 1-0-0, having won last year's initial meeting by a count of 1-0. The loss came in Nacogdoches, marking the only home defeat for the Ladyjacks in 2007. Since that match, SFA has run off a nine-game home winning streak. The Ladyjacks have won 13 of their last 14 home matches.
SFA vs. the Cornhuskers: Sunday's game will mark the first meeting between the two teams. The match continues a streak of four straight campaigns for SFA with at least one game against a Big 12 opponent during the regular season. The Ladyjacks are 1-3-0 against the Big 12 during that stretch.
The Coaches: SFA is coached by George Van Linder. In his first year at SFA, Van Linder has compiled a 2-3-0 record. He is 126-102-20 in 12 years as a collegiate head coach. Bruce Erickson is in his 10th season as head coach at Creighton. Nebraska head coach John Walker is in his 15th season with the program.
Next Week: SFA will return home to host Prairie View A&M in its final non-conference game. The match is set for a 1 p.m. start on Sunday.
