NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack football team closed out the last official day of fall camp Saturday evening with a practice at Homer Bryce Stadium. The gameday rehearsal took the players through the actual gameday situations, only a week before their season opener against Langston. Unfortunately, the 'Jacks had to deal with one part of the scrimmage that wasn't planned. A thunderstorm rolled through Nacogdoches cutting the practice short.
Sophomore Jeremy Moses will take to the field as the team's starting quarterback. Moses earned the starting job midway through his freshman year and finished the season completing 62 percent of his passes for 1,253 yards and six touchdowns.
Moses will have a veteran crew of receivers to get the ball to in '08. The talented stable of receivers includes seniors Dominique Edison and Tyrell Williams, juniors Aaron Rhea, Contrevious Parks and Duane Brooks, and sophomore Marcus Taylor.
The Lumberjacks kickoff the 2008 season Saturday, Aug. 30, when they host Langston. The game against the Lions is slated to begin at 6 p.m. from Homer Bryce Stadium.
