
SFA Track & Field Prepares for Regionals

Stephen F. Austin men's and women's track and field team will be in Lincoln, Neb., Friday and Saturday competing at the Midwest Regional Track and Field Championships. The meet will take place at Ed Weir Stadium, and will be hosted by the University of Nebraska. SFA is traveling 14 athletes (nine men and five women) for the event.
The six Ladyjacks that qualified for the meet are senior Audrey Azu in the high jump, sophomore Silent-Joy Egboba-Waye in the 100-meter hurdles and long jump, senior Katrina Roundtree in the 400-meter dash, freshman Arteria Sterns in the 100 and 200-meter dash, senior Leah Matthews in the long jump and sophomore Frednisha Marshall in the hammer throw. The nine Lumberjacks who qualified are senior Zach Ross in the 110-meter and 400-meter hurdles, sophomore Aaron Harlan in the 110-meter hurdles, junior Keith Mahipala in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, senior Stephon Rhea in the 100 meters and the 4X100-meter relay, freshmen Ty Thomas and Sherman Rosborough in the 4X100-meter relay, senior Justin Reyes in the high jump, senior Sumbo Adeniran in the long jump and the 4X100-meter relay and sophomore Matt Langdon in the hammer throw.
The meet will begin Friday at 1 p.m., with the hammer throw, high jump and long jump. The track events are slated to get underway at 1:45 p.m. with the running of the men's 4X100-meter relay.
