
Fans Invited to Welcome Back Lumberjack Basketball Team

NACOGDOCHES - The Nacogdoches community will have the opportunity to welcome back the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack basketball team from their trip to the NIT Wednesday evening. Fans are being encouraged to arrive at the back parking lot the William R. Johnson Coliseum by 10:30 p.m. to congratulate the 'Jacks on a successful 2007-08 campaign. The team is expected to arrive back in town between 10:30 and 11 p.m. The SFA band and spirit squads will be on hand, along with the SFA hecklers.
SFA finished off one of their most successful seasons in school history going 26-6 (.813) overall, and won a share of their first Southland Conference title with a 13-3 mark. The 'Jacks placed three athletes on the All-SLC teams led by 2008 player of the year Josh Alexander. Junior Matt Kingsley earned second-team honors, while sophomore Eric Bell received honorable mention recognition. SFA head coach Danny Kaspar was named conference coach of the year.
