SFA Graduates 17 Student-Athletes at Fall Commencement

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Athletics department celebrated with 17 of its student-athletes and managers as they walked through graduation ceremonies Saturday morning at the William R. Johnson Coliseum. Of SFA's 17 graduates, three of them graduated with honors. Offensive linemen Bradley Chmelar, and pitcher Brian Steinocher graduated cum laude, while high jumper Justin Reyes graduated with magna cum laude honors.
The Lumberjack baseball team led all sports with five athletes. Along with Steinocher, Heath Konescheck, Bruce Mayberry, Jeff Brewer and Justin Roland walked through ceremonies. The football team's graduates included Chmelar, Nick Rhodes, Lester Simmons and manager Tad Scott. The SFA track and field team graduated Reyes, Zach Ross and manager Jeremy Roberts. The Lumberjack basketball team and the Ladyjack volleyball team each graduated two athletes. The Lumberjack basketball graduates are Keith Hardaway and Will Johnson, while the volleyball team's graduates are JJ Jones and Ashley Edwards. Keyli Townsend was the lone member of the Ladyjack soccer team to walk through ceremonies.
