NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin athletic department once again participated in the Blessing Tree to help support less fortunate children in Nacogdoches during the Christmas season. The SFA Student Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) spearheads the event which allows SFA players, coaches and administration to select a less fortunate child to help make their Christmas wish come true.
"Nacogdoches has always supported Lumberjack and Ladyjack athletics," said SFA Director of Athletics Robert Hill. "This is another way for us to be able to give back to the community. Our student-athletes look forward to participating in the Blessing Tree every year. It has become a very important part of their athletic calendar."
SFA has participated in the Blessing Tree for the past several years. This year SFA purchased gifts for 75 children in the area.
