
Ladyjacks Announce 2007-08 Slate

NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks have released their 2007-08 schedule announced head coach Lee Ann Riley Wednesday afternoon. The upcoming docket consists of games against powerhouse programs from the Big 12, Conference USA, Southeastern and Western Athletic Conferences.
For a second consecutive season the Ladyjacks will open the season on the road in New Orleans, La. SFA will play an afternoon game against New Orleans, Sunday, Nov. 11, before returning to Nacogdoches to kick off the 2007-08 home schedule against Grambling State. SFA will remain in Nacogdoches to host Tulane (Nov. 16), before opening its longest road swing of the season.
The Ladyjacks will be away from Nacogdoches for six games beginning Friday, Nov. 23, when SFA travels to El Paso, Texas, to compete in a four-team tournament. The Ladyjacks will open the tournament against Nevada Friday, and will face either Cal State Fullerton or UTEP Saturday.
The Ladyjacks will close out the month of November in Dallas, against SMU (Nov. 28), before opening December on the first at Louisiana Tech. SFA will be making its first trip to Ruston since the 2003-04 season.
SFA will close out the six-game road swing December 7-8 in Columbia, Mo., at the Missouri Tournament. The tournament will consist of Mississippi Valley State, Alcorn State and Missouri.
The Ladyjacks return home for a two-game home stand Monday, Dec. 17, when they face SEC power Auburn. SFA will close out the short home stint three nights later against the Lady Panthers from Prairie View A&M.
SFA finishes on the non-conference portion of its schedule with consecutive road games. The Ladyjacks will take on the Golden Hurricane in Tulsa, Okla., Saturday, Dec. 29, before beginning the new year against Texas A&M (Jan. 3).
The Ladyjacks open Southland Conference play with two home games beginning Thursday, Jan. 10 against Nicholls State. SFA will return to the court 48 hours later to host Southeastern Louisiana.
Other big dates on the Ladyjacks' conference schedule include Saturday, Jan. 26, when SFA hosts Sam Houston State. The game against the Bearkats will also serve as Sue Gunter Day at the William R. Johnson Coliseum. Ladyjack Senior Night will be Saturday, Mar. 8, when SFA hosts Texas-San Antonio.
Prior to the regular season getting started SFA will host two exhibition games. The Ladyjacks will take to the court for the first time Thursday, Nov. 1, against St. Mary's. SFA's final tune-up before the regular season gets started will be Tuesday, Nov. 6 versus Huston-Tillotson.
