NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack football team is inviting all area children to the Lumberjacks' game Saturday, October 13th, against Nicholls State at 6 p.m. in Homer Bryce Stadium. Children have the opportunity to experience a college football game as SFA hosts NCAA Football's ninth annual "Take A Kid to the Game" (TAKG) program presented by Coca-Cola and sponsored by other Corporate Champions, Cingular Wireless and Pontiac. Kids, ages fourteen and younger, will receive a free ticket to watch SFA take on the NSU Colonels. Along with the kids free admission SFA will be providing free popcorn and $1 hotdogs for youth who participate. In conjunction with the great food discounts, the SFA Cheerleaders will be on hand prior to kick-off to paint children's faces.
Stephen F. Austin is one of more than 200 schools across the nation that is taking part in this campaign focused on allowing youth the opportunity to attend college football games. The TAKG® program is entering into its tenth year in the promotion of collegiate athletics.
"We look forward to having kids from the community be apart of our game day experience and support NCAA Football's TAKG® program," said SFA Director of Athletics Robert Hill. "This event is a great opportunity for children to spend quality time with a parent or role model while learning about the fundamentals of college football in a family-oriented atmosphere that is NCAA Football."
Tickets for this special game, will become available September 24th, and can be purchased at the SFA ticket office. For more information, contact 936-468-JACK.
