
'Jacks to Appear Three Times on Southland TV

FRISCO, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack football team will appear three times on the newly formed Southland TV video streaming package announced league officials Friday evening. The SLC, in partnership with its new Internet provider, XOS Technologies, will begin a new internet video streaming effort in 2007-08. Known as Southland TV, the new web endeavor is set to kickoff with a 12-game football schedule in 2007. All told, Southland TV will provide approximately 80 broadcasts during the 2007-08 academic calendar, including the league's championship tournaments for soccer, volleyball, men's and women's basketball, softball and baseball.
The Lumberjack football team will be featured on Southland TV three times, beginning Saturday, Sept. 22, when SFA hosts Western Illinois. The 'Jacks' game at Texas State (Oct. 20) and against McNeese State (Nov. 3) will also be aired. All three games are slated to kickoff at 6 p.m.
The package will begin with a free preview broadcast of the Angelo State at Sam Houston State game on Aug. 30, and be followed by 11 other streaming football broadcasts through a subscription service. Viewers will have the opportunity to purchase each game for $5.95 each, or select a football season ticket to view all remaining 11 games at a special price of $39.95. The yearly pass to view all broadcasts, including football and championship events, is $59.95.
