Fleck Named to NFF National Honor Society

Senior tight end Andrew Fleck was named to the National Football Foundation's National Honor Society Monday afternoon. Fleck is one of 348 athletes named to the inaugural class for his accomplishments in the classroom and on the playing field. For 60 years, the NFF has honored the top football student-athletes from more than 190 schools.
Fleck was a two-year starter for SFA after transferring from Virginia Tech. Fleck started the first 11 games of his career on the 'Jacks' defensive line before switching to tight end as a senior. He concluded his career by earning honorable mention All-Southland Conference honors. Fleck also received the Dick Wright Award at last week's annual SFA Champion's Dinner.
Fleck was a standout performer, not only on the field, but in the classroom as well. A 2006 team co-captain, Fleck was a semifinalist for the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame's Draddy Trophy, an award commonly considered the "Academic Heisman."
