SFA Soccer Signs Forward

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack soccer coach Jaime Frias announced Wednesday the addition of Megan Cash to his 2007 signing class. Cash is a transfer forward from the University of Tulsa.
The 5-2 Cash should add some immediate scoring punch to the Ladyjack lineup. She is coming off a freshman season at Tulsa that saw her lead the Golden Hurricane in scoring with 19 points in 19 games. She scored a team-best eight goals and tied for second in assists with three. Cash was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team.
"Megan is a player who will bring a great deal of experience with her," Frias said. "She knows what it takes to be successful at this level and has the passion and dedication to make an immediate impact within our program. Megan will fit in nicely with our team and the brand of soccer we play at SFA."
Prior to signing with Tulsa, Cash was a four-year letterwinner at Cedar Park High School in Austin, Texas, where she piled up numerous honors and awards. Cash was a first-team all-district selection and the district newcomer of the year as a freshman. Her sophomore year, she earned second-team all-district accolades.
Cash scored 25 goals with 15 assists for a total of 65 points as a junior, when she was named the offensive MVP of her district and earned spots on the first-team all-district and all-region teams. Her senior year, Cash was again chosen to the first-team all-district squad and earned a spot on the all-state team. She was named the offensive MVP of the team and, as team captain, helped lead her squad to a third-place showing in district play, advancing two rounds in the playoffs. Cash's team won the district crown in her junior year.
Cash spent eight years playing club soccer for the Lonestar '88 Premier Red squad, helping guide the team to a regional tournament appearance in 2005. She was a member of the South Texas B Team for a year and was a part of the state pool in the Olympic Development Program.
As a senior, Cash was named academic all-district and academic all-state. Megan is the daughter of Ron and Karen Cash.
