SFA Earns Sixth Seed in SLC Tourney

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Southland Conference has announced the bracket for the O'Reilly Auto Parts Southland Conference Tournament, scheduled for Wednesday, March 7, through Sunday, March 11, at the Campbell Center in Houston, Texas. The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks will enter the tournament as the No. 6 seed after finishing tied for third place in the SLC West Division. The Lumberjacks are scheduled to meet No. 3 seed Northwestern State Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the second game of the men's tournament.
The Lumberjacks wrapped up their regular season Saturday night with a 54-49 loss to Texas-San Antonio. That left SFA's record at 15-13 for the season and 8-8 in SLC play. The Lumberjacks finished the first season of SLC divisional play tied for third with Texas-Arlington. The Mavericks earned a higher seed in the tournament, though, by virtue of their better record against West Division teams.
