
Ladyjacks Enter SLC Tournament as Two Seed

FRISCO, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks will be the No. 2 seed in the 2007 O'Reilly Auto Parts Southland Conference Championships, and they will face seventh-seeded Lamar in the opening round of the tournament announced league officials Sunday morning. The Ladyjacks open tournament play Wednesday at Noon. All tournament games will be played at the Campbell Center in Houston, Texas.
The Ladyjacks earned the league's second seed after finishing the season with a 19-10 (.655) overall record and an 11-5 (.688) SLC mark. The Lady Cardinals come into their regular-season finale Sunday against Southeastern Louisiana with a 12-16 (.429) overall record and a 7-8 (.467) league mark.
The two teams squared off only once during the 2006-07 season, with Lamar getting the upper hand. The Lady Cardinals rallied in the second half to record an 81-71 decision in Nacogdoches.
If the Ladyjacks defeat Lamar in the first round of the tournament, they will take on the winner of the Texas State/Texas A&M-Corpus Christi game Friday. The semifinal game will also begin at noon.
