
SFA Golf Tied for 12th at UALR

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack golf team is currently tied for 12th after the first two rounds of the UALR/First Tee Collegiate Invitational in Little Rock, Ark. After finishing the first round 15th overall with a 299, SFA battled back to record a second round 294 to finish the day with a 299-294 - 593.
The Lumberjacks did a solid job of packing their top four players together. SFA was led by junior Chad Spencer who recorded an opening day score of 74-72 - 146 to finish tied for 35th. The rest of the 'Jacks' top four are within three strokes of Spencer.
Freshman Matthew Oates and sophomore Josh Irving recorded identical scores posting a 76 in the opening, and carding a one-over par 73 in the afternoon round. The duo is currently tied for 55th overall with a five-over par 149. Senior Ryan Salinas is also tied for 55th overall carding a 73-76 - 149 during the day.
Freshman Richard Wilkenfeld is playing as an individual and is only four-strokes back of Oates, Irving and Salinas. Wilkenfeld shot a 77-76 - 153 during Monday's two rounds of action.
The Lumberjacks return to action Tuesday morning to conclude the UALR/First Tee Collegiate Invitational.
