
'Jacks Drop Second Straight to Bears, 5-3

WACO, Texas - In the fourth inning, Steven Hill and Jared Pitts each had RBI singles to cut the Baylor Bears' lead to 3-2, but the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks would only add one more run to the board while the Bears put up two more for a final score of 5-3. SFA is now 2-6 on the year and the Bears are 3-3.
Kevin Crabtree and Noel Trevino scored the pair of runs and Trevino also scored the `Jacks third run in the eighth inning on a double to left center field hit by Hill.
Jared Schrom took the loss for the Lumberjacks, his first of the season. In his third start of the season, the sophomore pitched 4.0 innings, giving up three hits, three runs, three walks and three strikeouts.
SFA and Baylor will return to the field Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. for Game 3 of the series from Baylor Ballpark.
