NACOGDOCHES - Former SFA football standout Brandon North has been named assistant coach announced SFA first-year head coach J.C. Harper Tuesday afternoon. North will work with assistant coach Matt Graves in the Lumberjack secondary.
"We're excited to have Brandon on our staff," said Harper. "The opportunity to hire Brandon to work with our secondary was attractive because he is a former Lumberjack. Brandon is the type of individual that will serve as a role model for our younger players. He is from a very strong football background. Brandon's dad coaches a very successful program at Booker T. Washington High School in Houston."
North was a four-year letterwinner at SFA, and was a member of the Lumberjacks' 1999 team that went 8-3 (.727) and won a share of the Southland Football League title. North finished his career recording more than 200 total tackles, including 119 solo stops. North was named honorable mention All-Southland Conference following his sophomore and junior seasons.
