Figgers Named Defensive Player of the Week

FRISCO, Texas - Stephen F. Austin's Stephanie Figgers was once again named the Southland Conference Aeropostale Defensive Player of the Week for her performance on the volleyball court in last week's Austin Bank Ladyjack Invitational, announced league officials Monday afternoon.
The two-time SLC Libero of the Year had a career weekend on the home court, posting 41 digs against the Houston Cougars Saturday to match her career high, which is also tops in SFA history. The night before, she put up 32 digs against Tennessee State. That number ranks seventh at SFA. She now owns or is tied for every top 10 mark for digs in a single match at SFA.
Figgers and the Ladyjacks return to the court this weekend in Ruston, La., against Louisiana Tech and Troy State. The match against the Trojans is slated for a 4 p.m. start on Friday. SFA will face the Lady Techsters at 1 p.m. Saturday. Both matches will be played at Thomas Assembly.
