NORMAN, Okla. - Two days after recording its first shutout win of the season, the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack soccer team suffered its first shutout loss. SFA fell, 3-0, Sunday to an overpowering Oklahoma team. The loss moves SFA's record to 3-2 on the year.
The Sooners fired 23 shots in the game, including 14 in the second half when they pulled away with a pair of goals. Freshman Crystin Pactor started in net for the Ladyjacks and matched the eight saves she posted in her debut win against Oral Roberts on Friday. But the relentless Oklahoma attack eventually overwhelmed Pactor and the SFA defense.
Kady Kelly scored the first Sooner goal in the game's opening minute. The Ladyjacks held Oklahoma at bay for the rest of the half, but the Sooners got on the board in the 69th minute on a goal by Savannah Scott, and Kelly sealed the game 10 minutes later with her second goal of the contest.
The Ladyjacks managed just six shots in the loss, with three on goal.
SFA will return to action with a pair of home games this weekend. The Ladyjacks will host Houston Friday in a 5 p.m. contest, then entertain Rice on Sunday at 2 p.m.
