FORT WORTH, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack soccer team wrapped up its exhibition season Saturday with a 2-1 loss at Texas Christian. The Ladyjacks jumped out to a 1-0 lead early in the match, but couldn't hold off an aggressive Horned Frogs team that blasted 24 shots at the SFA goal.
Sophomore forward Amanda Alders scored SFA's lone goal, unassisted, in the seventh minute of play. TCU answered less than a minute later to tie the score. The game remained knotted at one until the 71st minute, when the Horned Frogs put the game-winning goal in the net.
Six of the Ladyjack starters were making their debut in the purple and white, including freshman goalkeeper Crystin Pactor. Pactor played the entire first half and faced down 12 TCU shots, recording seven saves.
The Ladyjacks open their regular season on Sunday, Aug. 27, against Grambling State. The home match is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. from the Ladyjack Soccer Field at the SFA Intramural Complex.
