FRISCO, Texas - Fox Sports Southwest will televise two Lumberjack football games in the 2006 season announced Southland Conference officials Monday morning. FSN Southwest will carry the Southeastern Louisiana game on Saturday, Oct. 28 and the Northwestern State game on Thursday, Nov. 16.
"With Fox Sports available in over 50 million homes, this is a great opportunity to showcase our university," said SFA Director of Athletics Robert Hill. "We have a long-standing rivalry against Northwestern State, which is fun for the fans to watch and provides us with an opportunity to promote our stadium and the SFA campus."
The kickoff times for both games have been adjusted to accommodate Fox. The 'Jacks game at Southeastern Louisiana was originally slated for a 6 p.m. kick, but has been pushed back to 7 p.m. The Lumberjacks home contest against Northwestern State, which was originally scheduled to be played on Saturday, Nov. 18, has been moved up to Thursday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m.
SFA was televised four times in 2005, including twice on FSN Southwest. It will mark the second consecutive season that the SFA/Northwestern State game will be aired.
