AUSTIN - Stephen F. Austin's Stevina Wyatt punched her ticket to the NCAA Track and Field Championships Saturday with a second-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships. Wyatt clocked in with a season-best time of 59.68 to earn a bid to the national meet.
Wyatt also ran a leg of the Ladyjack 4x400-meter relay. The team, which included Teshania Langston, Katrina Roundtree and Crystal Chang finished in ninth place with a time of 3:41.93. Ashley Monteau also registered a Top 10 performance, when she finished 10th in the 5,000-meter run. Monteau posted a time of 17:33.09 in the race.
On the men's side, Ryder Peacock gave the best performance of his season. He cleared 6-11.00 in the high jump, a height that would have tied for eighth place. However, Peacock finished just outside the Top 10 in 11th place, based on the number of attempts it took him to clear the height. In the long jump, Reggie Lazenby recorded a mark of 24-05.75 to finish 10th.
