NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack basketball team will kick off the 2006-07 season Tuesday night with an exhibition game. SFA is set to take on Houston Baptist at home in the William R. Johnson Coliseum. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
The Lumberjacks played host to Houston Baptist in the fourth game of their season a year ago. SFA came out on top, 91-66, as three players reached double figures in scoring. Center Antuane Miller scored a game-high 24 points, which stands as his career best at SFA. Miller returns this year as a senior after finishing second on the team in scoring a year ago.
The Lumberjacks will open the regular season on Saturday, when they host San Diego. The game against the Toreros is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. and will mark the third meeting between the two programs.
