NACOGDOCHES - SFA volleyball fans that want to make the trip to Austin Friday to support the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks in the first round of the NCAA tournament can now board a fan bus sponsored by the SFA Athletics Department and Student Activities, announced the athletics department Monday afternoon.
Anyone that is interested in making the trip to Austin should contact the SFA Ticket Office at 468-JACK (5225) for information. The bus will arrive in Austin in time for the 4:30 p.m. match against Alabama in the first round of the NCAA tournament. The bus will then return to Nacogdoches immediately after the match. Should the Ladyjacks win, the fan bus will return to Austin Saturday for the 6:30 p.m. contest against the winner of the Texas-Prairie View A&M match. All matches will be played at Gregory Gymnasium on the University of Texas campus.
Fans can ride the bus at no cost, but will be responsible for the purchase of their own ticket. For all three matches, the adult reserved package is $18, adult general admission is $12, and senior/student/youth tickets are $6. Tickets for the individual matches will go on sale Friday.
The Ladyjacks punched their ticket to the "Big Dance" two weekends ago when they defeated Texas-Arlington in the Southland Conference championship tournament. It will be the fourth time in school history that SFA receives an automatic bid to the tournament.
