
Ladyjack Volleyball Hosts Sam Houston State

NACOGDOCHES - After closing out its 2006 non-conference slate with wins over SMU and North Texas earlier this week, the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team now has its focus on a Southland Conference-only schedule, starting with Sam Houston State Saturday afternoon. SFA will be looking for its12th straight win this season heading into the match with a 15-3 overall mark and a 4-0 SLC record. The Bearkats are coming into Nacogdoches below .500 with a 7-8 overall record and a 2-3 SLC mark.
For SFA, junior Traci Rohde is leading with 3.80 kills per game, although sophomore Lauren Railey isn't far behind with a 3.47 average. Junior JJ Jones is helping the duo with a league-leading 12.39 assists per game. Jones and Railey both reached season highs with 67 assists and 23 kills, respectively, and did it in consecutive matches, against Texas State and SMU, earlier this week.
Ranked fifth in the nation, senior Stephanie Figgers is once again leading the Ladyjacks' defense with 6.29 digs per game and Rohde is chipping in with 1.41 blocks per game.
Lindsey Roebken is leading the Bearkats with 3.33 kills per game and Megan McNamara is averaging 10.07 digs per game. Melisa Sims is leading SHSU's defense with 5.12 digs per game.
The Ladyjacks will host the Bearkats Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. from the William R. Johnson Coliseum.
