DENTON, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team played its second straight non-conference match, defeating North Texas, 3-0 (30-22, 30-23, 30-24), Wednesday night in Denton. The Ladyjacks are now 14-3 (.824) on the season. SFA made quick work of the home team, dispensing the Mean Green in 95 minutes.
SFA didn't attack the ball very well, hitting only .123 against the Mean Green, but the Ladyjacks made it even tougher on their hosts. North Texas was held to an .038 attack percentage with no one in the lineup reaching double figures in kills.
The Ladyjacks were led by junior Traci Rohde and sophomore Lauren Railey's 10 kills, each. Junior setter JJ Jones also had a solid night offensively recording four kills, with no errors (.571 attack percentage) and leading all players with 27 assists.
Coming off one of their worst serving performances in school history Saturday afternoon, the Ladyjacks responded by taking advantage of their serves against UNT. SFA recorded 12 service aces with only five errors in the match.
The Ladyjacks return to action Saturday to host rival Sam Houston State. The match against the Bearkats is slated to begin at 4 p.m. from the William R. Johnson Coliseum. SFA enters the match with a perfect 4-0 Southland Conference record.
