'Jacks' Andrew Fleck Named Draddy Semifinalist

MORRISTOWN, N.J. - Senior tight end Andrew Fleck is has been named a semifinalist for the 2006 Draddy Trophy, announced the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame Wednesday morning. Fleck is one of 148 athletes to make the list.
The Draddy Trophy is considered the most prestigious academic honor in college football. Nominees must be a senior or graduate student, be in their final year of eligibility, maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average, demonstrate strong leadership and citizenship skills and be a first-team athlete.
A 2006 team captain, Fleck is a two-year starter for the Lumberjacks. After starting all 11 games at defensive end last season, Fleck made the switch to tight end and has started all six games for the 'Jacks.
Fleck's selection marks the second consecutive year that a Lumberjack has made the list of semifinalists. Matt Hoelscher, a 2005 team captain, was a semifinalist last season.
The list will be narrowed to 15 finalists on Sunday, Oct. 26. The winner will be announced Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City.
