WESTMONT, Ill. - Preseason All-American and Buck Buchanan candidate Keldrick Holman was named Don Hansen's Football Gazette Player of the Week for his efforts in the 'Jacks' 24-13 victory at Texas State last Saturday.
Holman was instrumental in the victory over the Bobcats recording a team-high 11 tackles, including seven solo stops, and one for a loss. Holman thwarted a Bobcat drive late in the first half when he intercepted a Bradley George pass and returned it 50 yards.
After SFA took its first lead late in the contest, Holman forced a Texas State fumble on the ensuing kickoff, which the Lumberjacks recovered to put the game away. He was also credited with a pass deflection in the victorious effort.
The Lumberjacks will take the week off before returning to the field Saturday, Oct. 21 to face McNeese State. The homecoming game against the Cowboys is slated to begin at 2 p.m. from Homer Bryce Stadium.
