Carr Receives Preseason Honor

FRISCO, Texas - Junior point guard Nikki Carr has been named preseason second-team All-Southland Conference announced league officials Thursday morning. Carr was the only Ladyjack named to the preseason team.
Carr was instrumental in helping the Ladyjacks advance to their 18th NCAA Championship appearance last season. She started all 31 games for the Ladyjacks at point guard. Carr finished third on the team averaging 7.9 points and led the team averaging 3.1 assists per game.
Carr knocked down 39 percent of three-point attempts as a sophomore and recorded the 10-best mark in school history with her 42 three-point field goals. She enters her junior season ninth all-time at SFA with 60 triples.
The Ladyjacks will begin defense of their Southland Conference title Friday, Nov. 11 against Tulane. The game against the Green Wave is slated to begin at 7 p.m. from New Orleans, La.
