SLC Releases Preseason Poll

PLANO, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack baseball team has been picked 11th in a preseason poll of the Southland Conference head coaches and sports information directors announced league officials Tuesday afternoon. The 2006 season will mark the first year SFA has fielded a baseball team since 1995. Conference champion Northwestern State was picked to defend its title in both polls.
The `Jacks kick off the 2006 regular season Friday when they open a three-game series against Arkansas-Little Rock. Friday's game is slated to begin at 2 p.m., from Jaycees Field at the Nacogdoches City Park. The games on Saturday and Sunday will begin at 1 p.m.
