Chang Named Athlete of Week

PLANO, Texas - Stephen F. Austin's Crystal Chang has been named the Southland Conference Indoor Track and Field Female Athlete of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday. Chang won the pentathlon at the Arkansas Razorback Invitational over the weekend to earn a share of the SLC's weekly honors, along with Sarah Baker, of Texas State.
In her first indoor competition since winning the pentathlon title at last year's SLC Indoor Championships, Chang blew away the rest of the field. She scored 3,755 points, breaking her own school record in the event, and running away from her closest competitor by more than 700 points.
Chang and the rest of the SFA track and field squad will return to action Friday at the LSU Bayou Bengal Invitational in Baton Rouge, La.
