Lumberjack Football Selects 2005 Team Captains

NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack football team selected seniors tight end Matt Bodley, offensive lineman Matt Hoelscher, defensive backs Ryan Luedecke and James Shead as the team captains for the 2005 season, announced first-year head coach Robert McFarland Saturday afternoon. The team nominated 10 players and selected four as its captains.
"It is an extreme honor for these 10 young men to be nominated by their teammates," said McFarland. "Each of these athletes is a quality individual that has been given an extreme responsibility. This team has bought into the system that we as coaches have installed and I know that these four men that were selected as team captains are ready to lead this team both on and off the field."
Along with the four players selected, the team also nominated receiver Carl Price, defensive back Krys Williams, defensive back Keldrick Holman, fullback Michael Motte, defensive end Montral Walker and quarterback Danny Southall. Among the 10 players nominated there were six seniors, three juniors and a sophomore.
Notes:
The annual "Meet the Jacks" is scheduled for Tuesday Aug. 23, at 6 p.m., in the University Center's Grand Ballroom.
