Meet the Ladyjacks Set for Aug. 25

NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team will kick off the 2005 season with the annual Purple/White Scrimmage on Thursday night. The match is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m. at the William R. Johnson Coliseum. Refreshments will be served after the match and fans will have a chance to meet with the SFA volleyball coaching staff and players.
The 2005 Ladyjack squad has been picked as the favorite to win the Southland Conference Championship, nabbing seven first-place votes and a total of 95 points in the preseason poll of league head coaches.
The Ladyjacks are returning 10 letterwinners, including five starters and three All-SLC honorees, from the 2004 Southland Conference Co-Championship team. The Ladyjacks went 26-6 overall and 17-3 in the SLC last season.
