Ladyjacks Fall in Exhibition

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack soccer team opened the 2005 season with a 2-0 loss to SMU Saturday night in exhibition action at the SFA Intramural Complex.
Krystal Bailey scored both SMU goals unassisted, one in each half. Bailey netted the gamewinner at the 22:33 mark. The second goal came in the 84th minute. The Mustangs fired 21 shots on goal to SFA's 6.
Ladyjack goalkeeper senior Natascia Michalezki, who holds the school record for career saves, recorded six for the game, before giving way to freshman Fran Tierno late in the second half.
SFA opens the regular season Friday against Texas A&M. The game is slated to start at 8 p.m. in College Station, Texas.
