NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack football team will take to the field at Homer Bryce Stadium Wednesday night for its sixth practice of the 2005 fall camp. Tonight's practice will be the team's first practice in full pads since the start of camp.
"The first five practices of camp have been utilized to reintroduce our guys to the offense and defense that we installed during the spring," said first-year head coach Robert McFarland. "I've been pleased with the team's retention of the plays. But now it's time that we get better with our technique and execution."
Tonight's practice will begin at 7 p.m., from Homer Bryce Stadium. Practices are free and open to the public.
The Lumberjacks return 41 lettermen from last year's 6-5 squad, including four preseason All-Southland Conference selections. Senior offensive lineman Jerry Little was a preseason first-team selection.
Notes: The Annual "Meet the Lumberjacks" will be held Tuesday August 23rd at 6 p.m., in the University Center's Grand Ballroom.
The Lumberjacks open the 2005 regular-season Thursday Sept. 1 in a non-conference match-up against Henderson State. The game against the Reddies is set to kick-off at 7 p.m., from Homer Bryce Stadium.
