SFA Honors Steve McCarty

NACOGDOCHES - Stephen F. Austin Athletics Director Steve McCarty was honored Friday night for his 21 years of service to the SFA Athletics Department in a retirement reception on campus.
McCarty has spent the past 15 years as the Athletics Director and during that time SFA Athletics has seen unparalleled success. The football team has earned two NCAA I-AA playoff berths, three NCAA Volleyball Championship appearances and two NIVC appearances, 14 NCAA Women's basketball Championship appearances, an appearance in the NCAA Men's Golf Regional, three Southland Conference soccer titles, an NCAA Soccer Championship appearance, six SLC cross country titles and three SLC Track and Field titles.
McCarty, who announced his retirement in March, will step down from his post Aug. 31.
