NACOGDOCHES - First-year Ladyjack head soccer coach Jaime Frias completed his staff with the hiring of Tara Schuling announced Frias Thursday morning. Schuling fills the void that was left after Frias was promoted to the head position last month.
Schuling comes to Nacogdoches from Miami, Fla., where she was a member of the Miami Hurricane coaching staff for the past two seasons. During her time with the Hurricanes, Schuling was heavily involved with recruiting and in-game coaching. Prior to her stint with the Hurricanes, Schuling was a coach at the club level.
Schuling served as the senior coach and assistant camp coordinator for two seasons at the University of Miami Soccer Camp. Over the course of the past four seasons, she has also served as a senior coach at the Texas, Illinois and Kansas Soccer Camps as well as the Southern Soccer Academy.
During her playing days, Schuling was a four-year starter at Illinois where she was named team captain and earned team MVP honors. After her graduation, Schuling played for the Chicago Cobras of the W-League.
The Ladyjacks won the 2004 Southland Conference regular-season title and return three first-team All-Southland Conference selections from that squad.
