
Softball Drops Opener To Texas A&M, 11-1

College Station, Texas -- Texas A&M (7-0) swept a non-conference doubleheader from SFA (3-5) Thursday afternoon by scores of 11-1 and 11-0. The Aggies, ranked #21 in the latest poll of collegiate softball teams, scored 10 runs in the bottom of the third inning of game one to break things open and went onto the 11-1 win.
Ragen Rutherford hit a solo shot in the top of the fifth inning for SFA's only run. Her blast was one of three hits in the opener off A&M pitching.
Julie Morse (2-2) was tagged for the loss in game one after picking up the start and working 2.0 innings and giveing up six runs, all earned, on nine hits. She struck out one and also walked a batter. Traci Moore came on in relief and was touched up for five runs on six hits in two innings of work.
