SFA Safety to Play in College All-Star Game

ST. GEORGE, Utah - Senior safety Darrell Bennett has been named to the NCAA Division I-AA roster for the inaugural Magnolia Grid Iron Classic. The game will pit NCAA Division I-A seniors, whose teams did not advance to a bowl game, against NCAA Division I-AA seniors.
After spending the first three seasons of his career at Southern Mississippi, Bennett transferred to SFA for his senior season and made an immediate impact. Bennett started all 11 games at safety and finished among the league's top 10 in tackles with 74. He also recorded 4.5 tackles for a loss, 0.5 sacks, three pass deflections, one interception and a fumble recovery.
The Magnolia Grid Iron Classic will be played Saturday Dec. 24th, at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Jackson, Miss.
