PLANO, Texas - Juniors Stephanie Figgers and Laura Cramer swept the Aeropostale Southland Conference Offensive and Defensive Volleyball Players of the Week honors for their performances on the court for the week of Oct. 31-Nov. 5, league officials announced Monday afternoon.
Figgers, a 5-4 native of Katy, Texas, earned her seventh conference honor after posting 45 digs in two matches. On Friday, she collected 11 digs at Texas-San Antonio. Her 34 digs in Saturday's SLC championship match was the second most she's recorded in a match this season, tying her for the fourth-most in school history.
Her weekend total brought her up to a career total of 1,604, landing her in the top spot for the most digs in a career at SFA. She started off the season at number 10.
Offensively, Cramer led the Ladyjacks through the weekend posting the 14th and 15th double-doubles of her junior campaign. The Abilene, Texas, native posted 18 kills with 15 digs against UTSA before knocking down 19 kills and putting up 25 digs in the title clinching match at Texas State.
It was the fourth time Cramer has earned the conference accolade. This was the third time this season the duo has completed the sweep of honors.
The 2005 SLC Champion Ladyjacks return to the court on Tuesday for their last home match of the 2005 season. The match against Louisiana-Monroe is slated for 7 p.m. at the William R. Johnson Coliseum.
