
Ladyjack Volleyball Heads to UTSA, Texas State

NACOGDOCHES - With only five games left in the regular season, the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks are headed down to the Texas Hill Country for back-to-back Southland Conference matches at Texas-San Antonio and Texas State over the weekend.
The first stop for the Ladyjacks will be in San Antonio as they take on the Roadrunners for the second time this season. SFA has already been successful once against UTSA this season when it took a 3-1 victory back on Sept. 20.
The Roadrunners, who are sitting with a 13-8 overall record and a 10-4 SLC mark, are being led by Meagan Daniel, DeeDee Strickland and Connie Picard. Daniel is averaging 3.99 kills per game with Picard not far behind with 3.17. Strickland is dishing out 12.00 assists per game.
The Ladyjacks and Roadrunners will face off at the Convocation Center beginning at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, SFA will head north to face Texas State for the second time in as many weeks. Last Tuesday, the Ladyjacks claimed the victory, 3-1.
Leading the pack for the Bobcats is Elizabeth Nwoke, who is averaging 4.09 kills per game, and Erin Hickman who is dishing out 12.09 assists per game. Amy Ramirez is leading the `Cats defensively with 4.09 digs per game.
The match between SFA and Texas State will begin at 7 p.m. at Strahan Coliseum.
SFA heads into the weekend riding a 15-match winning streak and an overall 22-2 record. With a flawless 14-0 SLC mark, the Ladyjacks are holding a two-match lead over the Sam Houston State Bearkats, who are 12-2 in league play. With three more victories for SFA, the Ladyjacks will take the Southland Conference title and the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament.
