
Jones Named National Player of the Week

NACOGDOCHES - After recording her first career triple-double and the first in two years for SFA, sophomore JJ Jones has been named the CVU.com National Player of the Week, announced the Collegiate Volleyball Update Tuesday afternoon. This is the first time a Southland Conference player has been given the honor.
Jones' triple-double came in the season finale at McNeese State when she recorded 10 kills, 55 assists and 13 digs and had a .529 hitting percentage in the match. For the week, she totaled 19 kills with a .357 hitting percentage, 133 assists, 34 digs, and 12 blocks. She finished the season with 1,293 assists, the eighth best in school history, with the third-best assist average (12.55 apg).
The 5-10 native of Allen, Texas, was a vital part of the Ladyjack squad that completed a 27-2 overall record while finishing the Southland Conference slate undefeated at 19-0.
The No. 1 seeded Ladyjacks will take the court on Friday night against No. 8 Lamar in the first round of the Southland Conference Championship Tournament. The match is slated for a 7:30 p.m. start at Texas Hall in Arlington.
