PLANO, Texas - Junior libero Stephanie Figgers has been named the Aeropostale Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts on the volleyball court in the final week of regular season play, league officials announced Monday afternoon.
Figgers, a 5-4 native of Katy, Texas, put up 54 digs in matches against Louisiana-Monroe, Lamar and McNeese State.

The Ladyjacks wrapped up their 2005 schedule this past weekend with a pair of matches at Lamar and McNeese. After defeating the Lady Cardinals and the Cowgirls, SFA became the first team since 2000 to finish out the SLC schedule undefeated at 19-0. It also finished with a 27-2 overall record.
SFA returns to the court on Friday night as the top seed in the SLC Championship Tournament and will face No. 8 Lamar at Texas Hall in Arlington. The match is slated for a 7:30 p.m. start.
