Figgers Does It Again

PLANO, Texas - For the sixth time this season, junior libero Stephanie Figgers has been named the Aeropostale Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts on the volleyball court league officials announced Monday afternoon.
Figgers, a native of Katy, Texas, has earned the accolade six times in 11 weeks during the 2005 season. This past week, it was a total of 50 digs in two matches against Texas State and Texas-Arlington that earned her the conference honor.
She now sits with a career total of 1,609 digs, good enough for second place on the all-time digs list. She started off the season in the number 10 spot. She also owns five of the top-10 records for digs in a match, including the top three spots.
The Ladyjacks return the court on Friday in San Antonio to face the Roadrunners at UTSA before heading to San Marcos to take on the Texas State Bobcats. Both SLC matches are slated for a 7 p.m. start.
