
Railey Earns SLC Honor

PLANO, Texas - Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack freshman Lauren Railey was named Aeropostale Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week for her accomplishments in last week's volleyball matches against Northwestern State and Louisiana-Monroe, league officials announced Monday.
Earning the accolade for the first time in her collegiate career, the McKinney, Texas native collected 27 kills in the two matches played over the weekend.
In Saturday's match at Northwestern State, Railey knocked down 18 kills to match her career high. Together with 10 digs, she earned her ninth double-double of the season.
For the weekend, Railey had a hitting percentage of .449 and an average of 4.50 kills per game. She also had two service aces and three total blocks with one solo.
The 5-10 outside hitter helped the Ladyjacks extend their overall record to 17-2 while keeping their SLC record perfect at 9-0.
The Ladyjacks will return to the court on Tuesday against SLC foe, Sam Houston State, at 7 p.m. in Huntsville.
