NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack soccer team will be looking to return to its winning ways as it faces two non-conference opponents this weekend. The Ladyjacks are 0-2-1 after an impressive season-opening victory against Arkansas State. SFA will travel to Dallas, Texas, Friday afternoon to face St. Mary's (Calif.) for a 5 p.m., game. St. Mary's is ranked ninth in the west region and received votes in the Soccer Buzz top-25 poll. The Ladyjacks will return to Nacogdoches for a Sunday afternoon game against Tulsa. The game versus the Golden Hurricane is scheduled to take place at 2 p.m., on the SFA Intramural Complex.
Chasing a Record: Junior goalkeeper Natascia Michalezki enters Friday night's game against St. Mary's needing only 11 more saves to become the school's all-time leader in that category. She currently is second all-time at SFA with 333. Former Ladyjack Elizabeth Evatt (1998-2001) is the current record holder with 343.
Looking Ahead: The Ladyjacks will be back in action Wednesday afternoon when they travel to Lake Charles, La., to square off against McNeese State. The game against the Cowgirls is slated to begin at 4 p.m. SFA will then return home for two games starting Friday night against Nicholls State. The game against the Lady Colonels is slated to begin at 7 p.m. SFA will close out the week with a 2 p.m., match-up against Southeastern Louisiana Sunday at 2 p.m. Both home games will be played at the SFA Intramural Complex.
