Memorial Scholarship Fund Established For Former Lumberjack

A memorial scholarship fund has been established at the SFA Alumni Association for former SFA football letterman Kyle Baird. Baird, a letterman for the Lumberjacks from 1996-1999 passed away Monday in Lufkin while visiting his father. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Kyle Baird Memorial Scholarship Fund, administered by the SFA Alumni Association. According to his father, it was Baird's wish that a scholarship be established to allow future deserving student-athletes the same chance to compete on the SFA football team that he enjoyed.
