NACOGDOCHES, Texas-- The `Jacks held the first long scrimmage of fall camp Saturday night and the defense dominated play, holding the offense to less than 200 yards of total offense on about 70 plays. The offensive units did score twice on the night, once on a 66-yard touchdown pass from Danny Southall to newcomer LaMark Henderson, and the second touchdown came on a one-yard plunge from quarterback Michael Williams during a two-minute drill. The defensive unit also picked off a Zeke Dixon pass early in the scrimmage and picked up three sacks on the night. Rain delayed the start of the scrimmage, moving the planned start back about 30 minutes and seemed to have some effect as the offense fumbled three times, losing one. Four SFA quarterbacks combined to complete nine of 36 passes for 149 yard and one touchdown. Southall was 3-8 for 85 yards, while Michael Williams was 4-11 for 61 yards. Zeke Dixon finished the night completing only two of 11 attempts for three yards and was intercepted once. Walk-on running back Lester Simmons led the SFA ground attack with 46 yards rushing on 10 carries. Transfer Derek Farmer picked up only three carries for nine yards. Senior receiver Miguel Toulon led the receiving corps with three catches for 26 yards.
