NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack basketball team signed point guard Shanae Green to a National Letter of Intent announced SFA head coach Lee Ann Riley Friday afternoon. Green is a 5-4 point guard from Las Vegas, Nev.
Green comes to SFA after a very successful prep career where she led Bishop Gorman High School to 21-5 record and the regional championship game as a senior. Green is a true point guard that can hit an open player with the pass as well as get back and defend. She averaged 8.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game for Bishop Gorman.
"A true point guard, Shanae is a great addition to our program," said Riley. "She is a strong and quick player who loves to play defense. One thing that impressed us during the recruiting process is her ability to run the offense. She does a great job of taking care of the ball and feeding the open player. Shanae comes to SFA from one of the top high school programs in Nevada. A highly recruited player, she chose SFA over Oregon State."
Green brings the Ladyjacks 2004 signing class to two, joining Natalie Kizzee who signed with SFA earlier this month.
