The 'Jacks struck quickly in game two, scoring a run in the bottom of the first inning when leadoff hitter Carrie Woydziak singled, moved to second on a passed ball and scored on a fly ball to right field off the bat of Chelsea Lundberg.
Nicole Carter made the run stand until the top of the fourth inning when the Mavericks put two runners on with bases on balls. They moved to second and third on a ground out to short and scored a run on a single up the middle by April Jones. Jones was thrown out at second base after Jaime Brown fired the ball into catcher Sarah Stone who threw back to Lee Lara at second for the third out of the inning, but the damage was done with the score tied at 1-1.
Traci Moore (2-3) came on in relief in the sixth inning and had trouble finding the strike zone as she walked a pair to open the sixth. She then struck out Haney but gave up a single to load the bases. Anderson then hit a foul ball down the line in left which was caught by Rutherford, but Beverly Rowan tagged at third and scored the go-ahead run.
The series closes Sunday with a single game starting at 1:00 p.m.
