
Ladyjacks Place Two on All-SLC Team

PLANO, Texas - Sophomores LaToya Mills (Houston, Texas) and Kendria Smith were named to the 2004 All-Southland Conference team announced league officials Monday morning. Mills garnered a second-team honors while Smith was named to the league's third team.
Mills led the team and finished 11th in the Southland Conference in scoring, averaging 12.4 points per contest. She was also tops on the team and third in the league in rebounding (8.3 rpg). Mills recorded 10 double-doubles this season capped by a 30-point, 11-rebound effort at Texas State in the season finale.
Smith finished just behind Mills in the conference averaging 11.9 points per game. Smith was also second on the team and 16th in the Southland Conference with 5.2 rebounds per contest. Smith recorded 33 blocks this season and finished second in the league averaging 1.65 blocks per contest.
The Ladyjacks return to action Tuesday night in Arlington for the first round of the Southland Conference Championships. SFA will face Texas-Arlington at 7 p.m., from Texas Hall.
